Carrie Hill has over 25 years of combined experience as a therapist, educator and trainer. As a therapist, she has worked with youth and their families in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as working with youth on intensive probation addressing mental illness and specializing in eating disorders and substance use disorders.
Prior to becoming a National Trainer for Mental Health First Aid, she worked at Community Partnership of Southern Arizona as a training specialist. She was certified in multiple trainings that addressed mental health, suicide and substance use disorders (Master Trainer in ASIST, QPR, Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, teen Mental Health First Aid and American Society of Addiction Medicine, among others). She also developed curriculum and multimedia presentations and facilitated webinars as part of her approach to training.
Hill is very passionate about her work with youth and continues to teach and mentor in school settings addressing hot topics including family dynamics, peer pressure, body image, eating disorders and self-esteem. She also worked with teens teaching them to develop their own curriculum and teach other youth on subjects such as bullying, leadership and self-esteem.
Hill holds a master’s in psychology from Prescott College with an emphasis on Expressive Arts Therapy as well as a BA in Theatre Arts from Loyola Marymount College. She performs theatre locally, co-runs an improv group for youth with autism, and has her own theatre production company. She also has a Podcast, Corner of Hope and Wellness that she hosts.
