Tramaine EL-Amin currently serves as the assistant vice president of strategic partnerships at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. In this role, she leads the development of strategic business partnerships for Mental Health First Aid USA, as well as process improvement and tactical planning activities for a variety of National Council public education and workforce development initiatives.
EL-Amin is a certified National (Master) Trainer for both the Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid curricula. She was previously responsible for the daily operation and oversight of technical assistance and training for this eight-hour public education program, which, to date, has trained more than 1 million individuals throughout the country.
Prior to her tenure at the National Council, EL-Amin led the proactive response to changes related to the Affordable Care Act legislation for the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services – a $1 billion publicly held behavioral health managed care organization. Her efforts contributed to the creation of the DBHIDS Health Reform and Health Equity Unit and a strategic approach to addressing public mental health and substance use disparities in service delivery for more than 2.5 million youth and adults across Philadelphia.
EL-Amin holds an MA in organizational leadership from Eastern University and a BA in psychology from Arcadia University.
