Jason Paul Jarreau, is a gay man, in recovery some substance use disorder. He entered recovery on Nov 29, 2011 and moved into his first Oxford House in Feb 2012 after Inpatient treatment. From there Mr. Jarreau began applying what he learned in treatment as well as what the Oxford House Model taught. After a year of continuous service work in the Louisiana network of Oxford Houses, he was hired as an Outreach Worker in May 2013 to help with the Grassroots efforts of opening new houses in Mississippi. During his time there, he and his teammate opened a total of 10 houses across the state. In September of 2014 he transferred too DC to continue his efforts with the growth in the DMV area. In June 2015 he was asked to transition into the Central Office of Oxford House and began taking on numerous administrative tasks. Today Mr. Jarreau is the Senior Manager of Contacts. In his role, he oversees a team that helps to ensure the operations and compliance of all existing contracts with state and local behavioral health agencies. Currently there are sixty-three contracts that OHI has with multiple state agencies and LBHA’s. Those contracts help to provide technical assistance to the already established areas of Oxford Houses as well as assist in developing new areas.
Mr. Jarreau also works with national partners and resources, such as The National Council & NARR, to help fight the stigma that surrounds recovery and specifically Recovery Housing.
Mr. Jarreau’s passion is also helping to ensure that the full spectrum of LGBTQIA+ persons are included in all facets of recovery support services.
