Steven Hornsby is the program director of safe and secure home of the Jewish Board in New York City. In over 20 years as a social worker, Hornsby has worked as a clinician and manager in homelessness services, supportive housing, mental health and workplace training. He drew on these diverse experiences to help create and launch the innovative Safe and Secure Home Program in 2019. This program utilizes clinical and practical approaches to assist supportive housing residents challenged by issues such as hoarding, clutter or unsanitary conditions. The goal of Safe and Secure Home is to help residents make positive behavioral changes in order to sustain healthy living environments which support well-being and recovery. He is a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College/CUNY.
