Jessica Perk-Alvarez is a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker serving as the Clinical Process Improvement Coordinator in the Behavioral Health Department at Access Supports For Living. This role involves managing outpatient mental health and substance use clinic and Personalized Recovery Oriented Services program audits and utilization reviews; supporting the transition of Electronic Health Records with the intention of improving client outcomes through assessment; analyzing data to identify trends related to client care and demographics; developing training materials for staff; and coordinating suicide prevention efforts. Her work on suicide prevention includes leading a committee of staff from across departments in reviewing risk screening protocols, analyzing demographic data to identify at risk populations, developing trainings and guidance materials, and exploring the use of electronic health records in managing risk. Prior to her work at Access: Supports For Living, Jessica worked at the New York State Office for the Aging and Department of Health where she worked as a NY Connects Coordinator and a member of the Balancing Incentive Program implementation team supporting the delivery of long term services and supports across New York. Jessica has conducted research on suicide prevention with special populations such as Veterans through her work with the Joseph Dwyer Peer Support program. She obtained her Masters in Social Work at the SUNY University at Albany where she specialized in the aging population and received a certificate in Human Services Managment from The Network of Social Work Management. Jessica's volunteer experience includes working with the Center for Women in Government and Civic Society; providing presentations to a variety of audiences related to the Special Education system on the importance of reasonable accommodations in student success; and the planning and delivery of One Billion Rising flash mob events through the V-Day organization.
