Douglas Roehler, PhD, MPH, is an epidemiologist in the Cannabis Strategy Unit at CDC. He joined the Division of Overdose Prevention in June 2019 as a global road safety field employee at the CDC Foundation. In this role, Doug was responsible for working with low- and middle-income countries to build their capacity at assessing and improving road safety around schools. Most recently, he was a health scientist on the morbidity team and supported drug overdose prevention efforts. Previously, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago where he focused on child injury prevention, specifically in sudden unexpected infant death, road safety, and violence prevention. He completed all of his educational training at the University of Michigan.
