Corey Hodge, MSW, is the Chair of the Bachelor of Social Work Program at Heritage University. She practiced for nearly a decade in the area of domestic violence and sexual assault before transitioning to teaching in the BSW program in rural Central Washington State. Heritage University is designated as both a Hispanic Serving Institution and a Native American Serving Institution and takes pride in its ability to support students through their educational journeys. Corey served as Field Director for nine years before becoming the Program Chair in 2016, recently leading the program through a successful reaffirmation of accreditation, adding a certificate option in substance use disorders, and building a paraprofessional program for indigenous behavioral health aids in partnership with a regional Indian Health Board . Teaching primarily in the practice sequence and ethics, she strives to bring a trauma-informed approach to the classroom.
