Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) are required to have a medical director. However, many recently certified organizations and those in the process of getting certified have not previously had a medical director as part of their leadership team. We’ll review the SAMHSA requirements for CCBHC activities in service that require medical director involvement and discuss how to recruit a medical director and optimal ways to work with and interact with the rest of the CCBHC staff and executive team.
