The Washington State is addressing gaps in care so crisis relief can be provided faster and earlier in the crisis with new programs and initiatives resulting in 90% of individuals referred to crisis services diverted from higher levels of care. We will walk through how this collaboration resulted in better outcomes for people, saved the state health care dollars, prevented unnecessary visits to hospital emergency rooms and how these efforts lay the groundwork for an effective and responsive system under 988.
