Early intervention in psychosis has been demonstrated to improve long-term outcomes for individuals experiencing a recent onset. In the United States, coordinated specialty care (CSC) has been disseminated broadly as an early intervention model. This overview of the core elements of CSC include outreach, shared decision-making and evidence-based intervention drawing upon a lived experience perspective, recent research and clinical and service delivery model examples.

Describe the core components of CSC.
Define the importance of intervening early in psychosis.
Summarize the different roles on a CSC team and the importance of shared decision-making.
