Building Trauma-informed, Resilience and Equity Focused Care in Communities

Ten years ago the National Council launched the first National Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) Learning Community, hear from the founders of this work about the foundation of Trauma-Informed Care, its principles and its promise. We will look back over the past 10 years and the innovative work Trauma-Informed organizations have done to advance the field. We will spend the afternoon looking into the future to understand how we have progressed from TIC to Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Oriented, Equitable (TIROE) Care and how this work will redefine our organizations and communities as we emerge from this international pandemic.

Creating an Organizational Approach to Suicide Prevention

An organization’s commitment to suicide prevention starts with strong planning and dedication from its leadership. In this interactive, four-hour Pre-Conference University, we will examine the structure and components of effective organizational suicide prevention. Are you able to effectively translate screening tools and assessments into safety planning and care pathways? We will provide you with the resources and guidance you need to make sure you are.

Breaking Organizational Barriers to Address Social Determinants of Health, Health Disparities and Racial and Social Justice

There are two primary issues that play a role in the ability of individuals from minority groups to access mental health and substance use treatment: the social determinants of health and health disparities. Both must be addressed at the highest level of a treatment organization. This four-hour, interactive Pre-Conference University will provide leadership of treatment organizations with tools to better understand the social determinants of health, health disparities and racial and social justice and a framework for transforming service provisions to address these issues.

CCBHC-Expansion Grantee Convening (Only Open for SAMHSA CCBHC-E Grantees)

The SAMHSA-funded CCBHC-Expansion Grantee National Training and Technical Assistance Center (CCBHC-E NTTAC) supports CCBHC-Expansion grantees in implementation and adherence to the CCBHC model, adoption of evidence-based practices and navigating sustainability of the model. Join us for a half-day workshop that will showcase CCBHC implementation best practices, provide opportunities for peer-to-peer engagement with other CCBHCs and discuss sustainability strategies.

This event is free for grantees and sponsored by the SAMHSA CCBHC-Expansion Grantee National Training and Technical Assistance Center. The event is only available to current SAMHSA CCBHC-Expansion Grantees and due to capacity, we ask that no more than two staff from each grantee attend.


Rural and Frontier Health Summit

Rural and frontier-based organizations are known for navigating complex challenges, such as workforce recruitment and retention and financing and reimbursement, with innovative strategies and solutions. During this four-hour summit, national experts will explore the possibilities and provide an opportunity for you to share insights and lessons learned with one another.

The Summit is free for National Council members and $99 for non-members. All participants must be registered for NatCon22 to attend.


Early Intervention Strategies for Supporting Individuals Experiencing Psychosis

For individuals who experience their first episode of psychosis, a proper assessment and plan of care can be critical to their future wellbeing. During this four-hour Pre-conference University, participants will explore the assessment of clinical high risk for psychosis (CHRp) and first episode psychosis (FEP) and the importance of Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC). We will examine the roles of the CSC team, shared decision making and provide an overview of CSC implementation efforts nationally, including research updates.
