The secret, of course, is that the filters in HVAC systems do little to clean the air in homes. And they can lead to other problems: high pressure drops, low air flow, cracked furnace heat exchangers, and damaged air conditioner compressors. In this session, we’ll examine the common problems with filters, what causes them, and how to fix them. We’ll discuss how to use the HVAC filter not only to keep sticks and toys out of the furnace or air handler but also to improve the indoor air quality.
Learning Objectives:
By attending this session, attendees will:
Diagnose the causes of common HVAC filtration problems
Differentiate among the different types of filters, describing their pros and cons and their filtration efficiency
Explain how to create filtration that works to achieve better air flow and cleaner indoor air
