Charles Segerstrom served as statewide energy efficiency Manager of Sector Strategies focused on education and training support for the energy efficiency, demand response, and renewable energy workforce until his retirement in August 2013. He has over forty years of experience in training, program development, technical consultation, including four years as Manager of utility energy efficiency training centers (Energy Training Center-Stockton, Pacific Energy Center, Food Service Technology Center) and Workforce Education and Training programs, and two years as Manager of Codes and Standards.
He was past President of the Board of Directors of Affordable Comfort (ACI), Vice President of California Home Energy Efficiency Rating Services, and a Director of North American Technician Excellence.
He has served as an energy efficiency program and policy consultant to SDG&E, IHACHI and PG&E, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Sierra Business Council, Sierra Repertory Theatre, and the Columbia College Foundation.
Recent national or regional awards include: 2011 ACI National Leadership award for support of Home Performance; 2012 Building Performance Institute National Hall of Fame; and 2013 Western States Council, Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation “Energy Efficiency Hero of the Year.”
