Ben supports program design for state and utility sponsored energy efficiency initiatives with over 30 years of experience in residential program deployment. He has been responsible for the reconfiguration of utility low income programs from prescriptive to performance standards with integrated consumer education, and the continuing evolution of cost effective new construction programs in response to updated codes, standards and certification protocols. Ben has served multiple terms as a board director of Affordable Comfort (now HPC), RESNET, KEEA and NHERSA, with a focus on supporting standards for quality assurance and multifamily buildings. He is a frequent conference presenter and participant in national strategy sessions addressing residential energy issues, particularly related to whole-building approaches. Ben began his career in energy efficiency program development at the New Zealand Ministry of Energy in 1982. He has an MBA from Drexel University and a B.S. from the University of Canterbury.
