Angela “Angie” Bivens is an Eastern Shore native with a drive to inspire positive change. She currently manages an income qualified program that allows her to educate 100s of families and individuals per year about ways to save money and take control of their energy usage. By engaging with partner organizations and local utilities, many residents have avoided disconnection. Through humorous and interactive workshops, Angie is able to initiate change and sustainability in others. Since starting off in the Energy Education field over 5 years ago, Angie has grown to obtain BPA certification as a Building Analyst Professional. Her degree in Visual Communications has been a foundation to create and format workshops for children, Zoom, Facebook and YouTube. Recently, Angie was recognized as one of Delaware’s Top Women in Business by the Delaware Times and 2023 Emerging Professional of the Year by the Association of Energy Services Professionals. She has also received additional rewards for her community engagement including 2023 Community Partner of the Year from Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity and certificates of recognition from partnering organizations including the Claymont Lions Club. In addition to work, Angie manages a free virtual program, for teen girls to learn leadership skills.
