This session will share Building Clean’s product consultation experience and lessons learned from helping numerous non-profit affordable housing builders and community action agencies throughout the U.S. find cost-competitive healthier and American manufactured building products. It will guide you through the new resources, considerations, and best practices to incorporate healthier and American manufactured products into your projects.
There is an ocean of “green” labels, from low-VOC certifications, ingredient disclosures, and “red list” labels. We will share a guide for comparing the various product certifications and labels to help you find healthier building products.
Installing locally manufactured building products provides both environmental and societal benefits, with American-made building products sustaining more than 4,600 manufacturing facilities across the United States, with recycled building materials and energy-efficient products alone accounting for more than 325,000 American manufacturing jobs. We will provide you with resources to find cost-competitive American-made products, and examples of how we helped our partners save money by buying American.
