DOE Residential: Updates & Feedback Opportunities on New Priorities

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Residential Buildings Integration team will address the Biden Administration’s climate action goals and priorities related to building energy efficiency, and feature break-out sessions to engage participants concerning additional priorities, as well as feedback on strategies, barriers to scale and capacity needs in the following areas:

Scaling Retrofits/Rebuilding America – Explore pathways, public-private sector partnerships, and the role of home performance programs and professionals in scaling the retrofit market using new technologies, funding opportunities and consumer awareness, while incorporating Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) priorities.

DOE Community Prizes – What are they, who can participate and why do they matter? Explore and provide feedback on this exciting proposal to develop a national competition focused on residential energy efficiency.

Energy Policies and Decarbonization – What role can policies such as voluntary and mandatory energy performance standards, energy use disclosures and existing-homes labeling and certification play in supporting wider adoption of residential energy efficiency?

Driving Demand: Consumer Campaigns, and Marketing – What can DOE and its partners do to convey the value of energy efficiency to American families? How can stakeholders, including RBI, build consumer demand for energy efficient homes?
