Addressing indoor health barriers improves occupant health, lowers energy expenses, and supports energy demands, while creating real jobs in our communities. However, low-income communities are disproportionately affected by health and housing-related issues. In this session, presenters will discuss increased asthma rates in low-income communities, barriers to accessing efficiency and resilience, and how these barriers do not allow equal accessibility to improvement in thermal resistance or access to renewable resources. Learn how improvements are being made to ensure health disparities and inequities are addressed in communities and at the state level.
