IAQ is critically important for the health & safety of residents. However, there is a lot that is unknown about IAQ issues, and there are also realities that conflict with conventional wisdom. This session will discuss what is true, and what is fiction, for a variety of indoor air quality issues based on actual measurements in the field. Topics include unvented gas appliances, moisture, vermiculite, and cooking. While all of these can indeed present real problems, there are also significant myths about each that can lead to incorrect conclusions and mitigation decisions. This session will leave attendees with the knowledge to make more rational decisions regarding each of these IAQ issues.
