CMC has been guided by the peerless passion of our founder and energy-efficiency pioneer, Doris Iklé since its creation at a kitchen tabletop in 1977. Since our humble beginnings, CMC has been driven by a simple mission: to deliver energy savings to America’s neediest families.
We have remained true to this mission while expanding to become a leading provider of program management and energy services for all utility sectors. Today, CMC employs a staff of nearly 350 across 10 states – and we continue to grow.
We remain women-owned and women-led. As one of the few certified Women’s Business Enterprises offering comprehensive program management services to the energy efficiency industry, CMC continues to be led by inspiring women.
During our more than 44-year history, we have secured 100+ utility contracts and have helped more than 600,000 single-family and multifamily customers reduce their energy bills by as much as 25 percent. We annually complete more than 40,000 in-home energy assessments. We handle more than 400,000 inbound and outbound calls annually on behalf of the various programs we support for utilities throughout the nation.
CMC’s 35+ utility and government clients currently include the program ranked #1 in the country by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (Mass Save) and two utilities ranked first in their respective regions for customer satisfaction by J.D. Power (PPL Electric Utilities and Ameren Illinois).
On the commercial and industrial side, CMC has delivered more than 1.2 GWh of energy savings on behalf of state and utility programs. We provide an array of services including engineering for deeper savings measures and marketing and outreach efforts to recruit program participants. We have completed more than 475 multifamily building deep retrofit projects and countless projects for small businesses in New Jersey and Connecticut.
In addition to those services, CMC also is a leader in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control market. CMC is the QA/QC provider for the entire Mass Save program and recently started QA/QC work for ComEd.
