In his role as Chief Operating Office, David Benedict, Pharm D, BCPS provides direct oversight of SPI - CarePathRx operations, including Clinical Education, Durable Medical Equipment, Enteral, Home Infusion, Medication Safety, Nursing, Specialty Pharmacy, Supply Chain, and Transportation. He has extensive experience in building clinical patient programs and ensuring operations has capacity driving successful outcomes.
Dave works with his team to obtain newly release medications, hospital-based opportunities, or patient care conundrums to drive solutions into alternative administration sites. Working with technologies to drive best practices in patient communications, building environmental systems, clinical pathways, dispensing workflows, and sterile compounding. He is voting member of both UPMC Corporate and Health Plan P&T Committees. Also, he serves as a member on both UPMC Nutritional Support Subcommittee, UPMC Infections Disease Subcommittee, and NHIA Leadership Forum.
He utilizes his past experiences as a hospital-based clinician and adjunct professor to provide a learning culture at CarePathrx.
