Dr. DeLegge completed his medical degree at the University of Maryland followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center and a fellowship in Gastroenterology/Hepatology/Nutrition at the Medical College of Virginia. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Nutrition. He is a faculty member and a full Professor of Medicine within the Division of Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the Medical University of South Carolina where he served as Director of the Digestive Disease Center. He was also responsible for the clinical research program with multiple studies performed in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition. He is a partner in DeLegge Medical, a medical device accelerator, and has over 50 patents. He was the global medical director at Baxter Healthcare from 2010 to 2016 and has significant experience in both medical device and drug development and regulatory approvals
