Director of Pharmacy Operations for Allegheny Health Network Home Infusion. I have had the privilege of working in the home infusion industry for almost 30 years. During this time, I have always had the philosophy, “Do what is right for the patient and good things will happen.” Using this as my guide has enabled me to impact many areas of our practice. I have worked as a consultant for several medical providers in the home infusion industry, which enabled me to challenge these suppliers to provide solutions to the difficulties we face on a daily basis. This has resulted in changes to infusion pump settings, pump design and administration sets. Most recently, my research on catheter occlusion and use of alteplase in the home infusion population has demonstrated statistical value for the use of anti-reflux needleless connectors.
