David Hughes received his BS Pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. His current role is as Yale New Haven Health System's Director of Home Infusion Therapy. Prior to his role with Yale New Haven Health System, Dr. Hughes had a fifteen year career with CVS Health and worked corporately for CVS as a Senior Manager of eBusiness and Technology. He later launched his own independent specialty and infusion pharmacy in Rhode Island, specializing in sterile compounding and infusion therapy. He operated the pharmacy for eight years and achieved operations across forty states before divesting his interest and moving on to a private infusion company in Chicago, Home Health Infusion Options (HHIO). He has designed and built five clean rooms from the ground up throughout his career. In addition to his professional work, Dr. Hughes served in academic appointments as an Adjunct Assistance Professor of Pediatric Medicine for Brown University's Alpert Medical School and as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Pharmacology for the University of the Incarnate Word's Feik School of Pharmacy.
