Jan Elliot, Director of Vascular Access for Upstate HomeCare, has been an infusion therapy and vascular access specialist in Central New York for over 25 years. In addition, she works for Hospice and Palliative Care as an on-call nurse. Throughout her 26-year career path, Jan has taught numerous classes on Infusion Therapy, Pharmacology and developed several vascular access teams throughout New York State. She also provides ongoing education for clinicians on infusion therapy and vascular access in the home, alternative, and acute care settings. In addition, Jan has worked for various medical device companies as a clinical specialist, preceptor, and educator. In those roles, she helped implement conversions on new technologies, products, and services, focusing on promoting and ensuring safer patient care. Jan is the current president of the Association of Vascular Access of Central New York (AVACNY) and has held that title for the past 14 years. Within AVACNY, she has hosted some of the most successful teaching day symposiums for all health care disciplines, with world-renowned speakers discussing best practices, new innovations, and evidence-based medicine She was also the recipient of the 2019 Association of Vascular Access (AVA) National Impact Award.
