COVID-19 has pushed treatments to the home setting at an unprecendented rate. As a result, technology has been desigend for imporved ease of use for both clinicians and patients and are enabled with data connectivity to increase the transparency to treatments in the home infusion and alternate site of care setting. Despite these advantages, adoption of technology is still difficult to achieve, This roundtable will outline current challenges faced by clinicans and how new technologies entering the market can improve patient care.
Learning Objectives:
Identify and evaluate the current challenges face by homecare infusion clinicians and how these impact patient safety and treatment outcomes.
Explore the drivers of change, including improved safety and clinical outcomes, homecare clinician shortages, and mounting healthcare costs.
Understand the obstacles of implementing a new technology including clinical education, patient education, risk management, supply management, etc.
Develop an understanding of the benefits a data connectivity can provide to both clinicians and patients, including transparency of treatment and patient adherence in a home environment, fewer device performance errors, improved ease of use for patients and clinicians, increased clinician efficiency, and improved patient outcomes.
