Calculating units correctly is an integral part to being reimbursed effectively and avoid audits. Additionally, when to use or not use modifiers can be a challenge. This roundtable will discuss and provide tips and tricks for calculations and best practices on when to use the modifiers.

Discuss the difference between billing by metric qty/vial, etc. versus HCPCS units.
Review the appropriate use of modifiers as it relates to drugs such as: JW, JB, JA.
How to validate that you are billing the correct HPCPS units for each drug dispensed (PDAC crosswalk).
Discuss the best course of action to take when there is not a specific HCPCS for the drug dispensed and a generic code such as J3490 must be used.
