The former Medicare policies or Local Coverage Determinations for parenteral nutrition (PN) and enteral nutrition (EN) were retired on November 12, 2020, after 36 years, changing the access to home PN and EN for beneficiaries. Participants will review the original National Coverage Determination (still in place since 1984) and the long-awaited new PN and EN LCD's released in 2021. Impact of these changes for beneficiaries and providers will be reviewed.

Describe advocacy efforts leading to the retirement of the previous obsolete Medicare policies for parenteral and enteral nutrition

Understand the challenges that remain with the "new" policies and the impact on access to home nutrition support for Medicare beneficiaries.
