Across her decades of experience, Susan Loveall has led operations and finance strategy within the education, non-profit, hospitality, real estate, banking and retail sectors. Throughout her career, she has been known for her tenacity and creativity, skillfully identifying opportunities to improve business efficiency and lead change across organizations. She is energized by opportunities to develop creative solutions and solve complex organizational challenges.
Most recently, Susan has brought her ability to improve processes and lead high-impact projects to The Carey School. At the Carey, Susan advises the Head of School and Board of Trustees on strategies to meet the organization’s vision and goals. Most recently, she was instrumental in the success of an $8.3 million capital campaign which was completed in just twelve months. Her efforts have also included several transformational changes including the implementation of a tuition revenue system that greatly enhanced the ongoing cashflow.
Prior to her current role, Susan worked as Vice President, CFO/COO in a blended role with ownership of all operations and finance strategy for the San Diego Natural History Museum. While here, she negotiated a refinancing of the museum’s $13 million in debt, creating an annual savings of $800,000+. While at one of Mexico’s premier resorts, Rancho La Puerta Resort, Susan led implementation of the company’s first-ever property management software which created a 14% revenue increase in the first year.
Susan’s professional history is complemented by a BA in Economics from the University of California, San Diego. She additionally has completed Cornell University’s General Managers Executive Leadership Program and Stanford University’s Executive Non-Profit Leadership Program. She is passionate about evolving as a leader and has pursued two 12-month trainings, including the Management Training Program with Union Bank and Executives in Civic Leadership through LEAD San Diego.
