Administrative Nurse I
UCLA Health
Riverside, California, United States
My name is Megan Weisbart, MSN, RNC-NIC, CNL, PHN and I am an Administrative Nurse I (Lead Charge Nurse for night shift) in the UCLA Santa Monica NICU. I am beginning my fifth year of NICU nursing at UCLA. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from UCLA and my Master of Science in Nursing with honors from UCLA. I began my career at UCLA in the Nurse Residency Program where I collaborated with fellow NICU residents to implement an evidence-based practice (EBP) initiative to benefit neonates vulnerable to sepsis. I am passionately involved in professional governance, serving as Chair of our Unit Practice Council, Chair of our Transformational Leadership Council, Co-Chair of our Nurse Executive Council, and as a member in the EBP Council. I received the "Rising Star Award" at UCLA Health for demonstration of leadership, teamwork, and CI-CARE. I received my Registered Nurse Certified in Neonatal Intensive Care (RNC-NIC) specialty certification shortly after meeting the practice requirements. I have served on the UCLA SM NICU AACN Beacon Award Committee, where I collaborated with fellow colleagues to write, edit, and submit the documents that aided in the receipt of our Gold-Level Beacon Award for Excellence. I recently graduated from my Emerging Leadership Fellowship. I serve as our NICU Magnet Champion and an appraiser escort during UCLA Health's most recent Magnet redesignation site visit. I am passionate about mentorship and teaching and serve as a preceptor and mentor in the Nurse Resident Mentorship Program. I am dedicated to community outreach, serving as a March of Dimes Champion for my unit. Hobbies of mine include group exercise classes, traveling, walking my dog, and enjoying time with friends and family.
