Dr. Amy Gates is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and pediatric nutrition specialist. She earned her Ph.D. from The College of Allied Health Science at Augusta University. She has worked as a neonatal dietitian, NICU Milk Lab Director, and neonatal nutrition researcher at the Children's Hospital of Georgia level 4 NICU since 1998. Dr. Gates has numerous articles, book chapters, podcasts, and presentations on neonatal nutrition. Her research interests include preterm human milk composition, human milk fortification for the preterm infant, and long-term outcomes of the human milk-fed preterm infant. She became a Medical Science Liaison for Mead Johnson Nutrition in 2020. She maintains a faculty position at Augusta University, The Medical College of Georgia, where she continues her breastmilk and neonatal nutrition research.
