Elizabeth Li Sharpe is an Associate Professor Clinical Nursing and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Specialty Track Director at The Ohio State University. Dr. Sharpe is an expert in neonatal/pediatric vascular access and designed and conducted the largest survey of Neonatal Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) in Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the United States. This work exploring the diversity of practices influenced the National Association of Neonatal Nurses PICC Guideline for Practice, of which she is a co-author for the 3rd and 4th editions. She served on the Infusion Nurses Society Standards of Practice Committee for its 8th edition (2021) and has authored numerous publications on vascular access, neonatal care, harm prevention and simulation. She served on the NANN Board of Directors and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Association for Vascular Access Foundation. She is a globally consulted nurse leader and educator, and was named the First Dr. Janet Pettit Scholar by the Association for Vascular Access.
