Sharon has been a nurse for more than 30 years. She is a neonatal nurse practitioner, but for 2 decades, her clinical practice has been focused on genetics (more specifically inborn errors of metabolism and newborn screening). She earned a Master's degree (NNP) from the University of Pennsylvania and Doctor of Nursing Practice from La Salle University. Currently, she is an Associate Dean and Associate Professor in the Division of Advanced Nursing Practice at Rutgers School of Nursing and has a Faculty Practice in Pediatric Genetics at Rutgers Health, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
