Across the globe, 10 million preterm birth survivors annually reach adulthood. The Rhode Island Cohort of Adults Born Prematurely (RHODE Study) is an NIH funded longitudinal study of 215 infants. The RHODE Study is the only study of prematurely born infants in the United States that has been followed from birth into adulthood; representing the wide heterogeneity of prematurity and a full-term comparison group. This study provides the unique opportunity to listen to the perspective of preterm born adults about how prematurity has impacted their life.
