Clinical Research Assistant
Rhode Island Hospital
My name is Allyson Goldstein, B.S./B.A., and I am a Clinical Research Assistant at Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) presenting on the Development of an Online Intervention to Reduce Internalized Stigma in Epilepsy. I graduated from Providence College in 2020 with a dual degree in Biology and Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience. In my current role at RIH, in addition to research on epilepsy stigma, I work on projects related to medication management and compensatory strategy use in Mild Cognitive Impairment and mild dementia, as well as neuropsychiatric symptoms in patients with Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor. Beyond my role as a research assistant, I work as a psychometrist for two licensed clinical neuropsychologists and test 4-6 English speaking patients, and 1-2 non-English speaking patients per week. I plan to apply to graduate school for neuropsychology to pursue a doctoral degree and further my interests and education next fall.
