Tom Bristow, PsyD, ABN initially educated and trained in the field of clinical psychology at Forest Institute of Professional Psychology, Dr. Bristow interned at the student counseling center of the University of Virginia. Dr. Bristow’s interest in neuropsychology began during his internship that provided a neuropsychology rotation at Blue Ridge psychiatric hospital administering supervised neuropsychological evaluations. He furthered his education by obtaining an advance certificate in clinical neuropsychology and became board certified in 2008 by the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology. Since 1990, Dr. Bristow has worked in private practice, psychiatric hospitals, school districts and a correctional facility. He has taught in higher education since 1993 and is a tenured professor at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. Dr. Bristow was recently chair of the psychology department at Lewis University, and now is the Associate Dean of the College of Education and Social Sciences. His academic interests are in the areas of consciousness and cognitive evolution. Dr. Bristow was boarded by the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology in 2008. He has served as the treasurer of ABN for two terms and is currently the president-elect.
