PhD Student and Adjunct Professor

Joi is a PhD student of Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Gifted Education Leadership, at the University of Denver's Morgridge College of Education. A former middle school math teacher, she now works as a graduate assistant with Dr. Norma Hafenstein, adjunct of the Teacher Education Program's Gifted Education Workshop, and Director of Professional Education for the Gifted Development Center. She serves on the board of SoulSpark Learning, volunteers with the Mensa Foundation, and is a cofounder of Gifted and Talented Leaders of Color and Allies. Her focus is on supporting the career development and wellbeing of the gifted, and the professionals who support them. A multicultural, multiracial, multipotentialite, she lives in Littleton, Colorado with her partner and their garden.
