Dr. Pamela R. Clinkenbeard is Professor Emeritus of Educational Foundations at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (educational psychology, child/adolescent development, research methods, and gifted education). She co-developed Wisconsin's first gifted education licensure program for teachers and coordinators as well as the UWW master’s degree emphasis in Challenging Advanced Learners. She has served as a board member and officer of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) and currently serves as the U.S. liaison to the European Council for High Ability (ECHA). She also serves on gifted education and research advisory boards at Northwestern University (CTD) and Purdue University (GER2I), and is a member of the Gifted Child Quarterly and Gifted & Talented International editorial boards. She is a past president and current board member and advocacy chair for the Wisconsin Association for Talented and Gifted (WATG). She has written several book chapters and has published articles in Gifted Child Quarterly, Journal for Education of the Gifted, and Roeper Review, as well as other journals. Before coming to Wisconsin she was on the faculty at Yale University working with the National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented, and she was recently on the Fulbright Specialist roster. She also worked in gifted education at Duke University’s Talent Identification Program and as an assistant professor at the University of Georgia. Dr. Clinkenbeard speaks all over the country and internationally, including Australia, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Slovenia. Her research interests include motivation and gifted students, neuroscience implications for gifted education, advocacy and economic policy related to gifted education, and identifying and nurturing gifts and talents among children living in poverty. NAGC just named her the 2022 David W. Belin Advocacy Award winner.
