I hold a Bachelors in Music Education (oboe and voice ) from Wheaton College in Illinois, and a Masters in Educational Psychology (gifted education) from the University of Connecticut.
I am a private oboe instructor. I taught elementary and middle school band, jazz band, and general music for over 30 years. I was the Educational Liaison for Wheaton College Artist Series in Illinois, and am currently an adjunct lecturer for the University of Iowa Belin Blank Center for gifted and talented education. I teach courses on Perfectionism, and Giftedness and Talent Development in the Arts, Athletics, and Academics.
In addition to the topics of the classes I teach, I have an interest in and am currently conducting research on individuals who are both gifted and adopted.
