Dr. Mary Slade is professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education in the College of Education. Mary’s teaching in educator preparation includes gifted and talented education in addition to early childhood education.
Through scholarly endeavors, Dr. Slade has shared over 200 inservice sessions to educators in pre-K-12 education, as well as more than 175 professional presentations. Mary has published widely including more than 100 articles, book chapters, and reports in addition to three books.
Mary’s primary scholarship interests lie in gifted, talented, and creative education; however, other interests include teacher education preparation and community engagement. Mary has held several leadership positions on state and national boards of directors in the field of gifted education. Mary received the Early Leader Award from the National Association for Gifted Children.
