Michelle Swain currently serves as the Director of Gifted and Advanced Academic Services for Round Rock ISD. Prior to coming to Round Rock in 2004, she was a teacher and program facilitator in Austin ISD for 11 years. Michelle served two terms as a Regional Director on the TAGT Board of Directors and as
the 2011 President. She completed two terms on the NAGC Board of Directors as State Representative, and previously served as an officer in the Creativity network and a member of the Leadership Development Committee. She currently is the chair of the Gifted Coordinators Network. Michelle was the recipient of the 2001 TAGT Region XIII Advocate of the Year Award, the 2013 TAMS/TAGT State Administrator of the Gifted Award, and the 2015 NAGC Gifted Coordinator Award. Michelle presents across the state and nation on topics related to advanced and gifted learners, and has been actively involved with several organizations including Destination Imagination, Math Pentathlon, Texas IB Schools, and the College Board.
