Cynthia Z. Hansen, Ed.D., ET/P, (she/her) is an Educational Therapist and Twice-Exceptional Consultant facilitating the growth of gifted and creative individuals with executive function delays, ADHD, dyslexia, and complex learning profiles using a strength-based, whole-child approach. Promoting awareness of the strengths of cognitively diverse learners, Dr. Hansen develops and leads parent, professional development workshops, and conference presentations on issues facing gifted and twice-exceptional learners and their optimal learning environments.
Dr. Hansen has been an educator for over 35 years: in the classroom and as an advocate for special populations. In addition to certifications in Gifted and Talented Education and Twice-Exceptional Education, she holds credentials in Language Arts, Social Studies, and Multiple Subjects. Dr. Hansen earned her doctorate from Bridges Graduate School of Cognitive Diversity in Education, where she continues to coordinate special projects. Her research centers on using games and tools to assist twice-exceptional learners in developing a positive self-identity and nurturing their self-advocacy and agency.
Dr. Hansen pursues her advocacy work as President of the Tri-County GATE Council in Southern California, as a S.E.N.G. Model Parent Group facilitator, and as an advisory board member for The G Word movie, a documentary film in the final stages of production.
