Shannon Anderson has taught for 25 years, from first grade through college level. She also served as the gifted coordinator for her school district and served on the Board of Directors for the Indiana State Literacy Association. A highlight of her teaching career was being named one of the 10 teachers who "awed and inspired" the Today Show in 2019. Shannon holds a Master's degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan University and earned her license for teaching gifted and talented students through Ball State University. She loves to write and speak about social and emotional topics and was named the JC Runyon Person of the Year in 2018 for her work promoting mental health.
Shannon is an award-winning children's book author, an international speaker, and served as the Regional Advisor for the Indiana Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. With books on the topics of growth mindset, perfectionism, underachievement, anxiety, and determination, she hopes to offer stories that have humor and heart, but also launch conversations about these important topics.
