Short description: Add enrichment that focuses on identifying the strengths of primary gifted learners using convergent, divergent, evaluative, and visual problem-solving activities presented by a unique cadre of thinking specialists. Time-tested and engaging, PETS™ reaches students across traditional cultural, linguistic, or socio-economic roadblocks. Behavioral checklists build performance profiles for ID purposes that highlight those talents and strengths many traditional measures may miss.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will:
Experience a creative framework for activities that promotes high-level convergent, divergent, evaluative, and visual-spatial thinking in primary GT learners
Review behavioral checklists aligned with each of these cognitive domains that support the early identification process
Review research on using this program format to raise standardized test scores and to support the identification of gifted learners in under-served populations
