Short description: Does the gifted child inherit a burden of responsibility to society? Do any of us? The affective and academic curricula we deliver to gifted students inherently address the balance between personal and public responsibilities. Join two gifted educators and returned Peace Corps volunteers as we discuss the fabric of society, limited metaphors, and implications for our programming.

Gain 2-3 scholarly frames for considering the role of education, and in particular gifted programming, in the context of individual self-actualization, cultural renewal, and community construction
Have the opportunity for small group discussion to hear and understand the perspectives of fellow educators on these topics
