Short description: In our increasingly connected and global society, it is critical for gifted youth to learn intercultural responsiveness. But how should educators facilitate intercultural learning in classrooms and programs? In this session, educators learn research-based practices to support gifted students in building positive relations with peers from various cultural backgrounds and how to integrate those strategies into their daily pedagogy.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will:
Learn skills that facilitate intercultural responsiveness in gifted classrooms and enrichment programs
Hear findings of a recent research study, including strategies to foster intercultural responsiveness among gifted students
Understand how pedagogy can function as a medium to engender intercultural responsiveness in gifted youth
