Japan’s New Challenges for an International Online Education Platform

Higher education needs to contribute to the promotion of diversity in our society. To achieve this goal, the Japanese government and universities have launched new projects: (1) Japan Forum for Internationalization of Universities and (2) Japan Virtual Campus. The session explains these new projects and calls for universities worldwide to join them. This session is presented by the Japan Network for International Education (JAFSA).

Learning Objectives:

Learn about the current government initiatives and practices of universities related to internationalization of the higher education sector in Japan.
Explore the successes and challenges of conducting one project led by Tohoku University and learn how to participate in the project or collaborate with Japanese universities.
