Based out of the IIE Houston office since 2006, Lindsay works to create and advance access, diversity, equity, and inclusion in international education, specializing in U.S. student participation in study abroad, partnership building, membership engagement, and scholarship/grant management. As the Lead for the IIENetwork, Lindsay oversees the strategic development, operations, membership services and communications, and manages team members. She also manages IIENetwork member-supporting programs: the IIE American Passport Project, which issues institutional grants to fund U.S. passports to enable access for undergraduate students to study abroad, and the IIE Heiskell Awards, recognizing innovative models of international education. In addition, Lindsay is an IIE DEI Committee member focusing on DEI externally and programmatically, providing linkage of DEI activities and best practices within the programs and initiatives and throughout IIE’s broader network. Lindsay previously served as: Partnerships Manager for IIE’s Scholar Rescue Fund with the primary goal of launching the IIE-SRF Alliance; Lead for IIE’s Generation Study Abroad initiative; and Director of the U.S. Department of State’s Gilman International Scholarship Program, a program she worked on for 10+ years with recognition of service from State. She is a graduate of Trinity University (TX) with a Bachelor's in both International Studies (Latin America concentration) and Spanish. She completed Rice University’s Leadership Institute for Nonprofit Executives Certificate Program in 2020 and is in process of obtaining the Certified Diversity Professional credential. Her international experiences include studying abroad in Chile during college, participating in a high school delegation to China, and serving as a youth volunteer with Amigos de las Américas in Paraguay, along with various world travels professionally and personally.
