Caroline Donovan White is a seasoned international educator who is energized by connecting people with programs, resources, and peers to expand and champion the profession. For over 25 years, her career has centered on international exchange, strategic partnerships, resource development, curriculum integration, volunteer management, and training. Caroline is currently senior director for education abroad services and volunteer engagement at NAFSA: Association of International Educators, the world's largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education and exchange. NAFSA's 10,000 members are located at more than 3,500 institutions worldwide, in over 150 countries. At NAFSA, Caroline provides strategic leadership for the association’s portfolio of education abroad professional development resources and its engagement initiatives such as its annual awards, interest groups, elections and appointment of volunteers. Prior to joining NAFSA in 2012, Caroline managed international education programs for 13 years at The George Washington University. She also held an adjunct faculty position on GW’s school of education, teaching courses on managing international programs from 2008-2018. Caroline has also worked on programs sponsored by the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. Information Agency at the Institute of International Education and Delphi International. Caroline earned her degrees from GW and American University and studied abroad in Paris and Nairobi. She has presented at NAFSA, EAIE, AIEA, and other international conferences.
