Ann Mason has over 25 years’ experience in international higher education and U.S.-Latin America academic cooperation. In her current role as an international consultant, Ann directs the EducationUSA-funded US-Colombia Higher Education Partnership Initiative. Her previous positions include CEO of Mason Education Group, Executive Director of the US-Colombia Fulbright Commission, and Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at the University of the Andes, all in Bogotá. She currently serves on the boards of directors of NAFSA and of the US-Colombia Binational Center. She has advised the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, the World Bank, IIE, LASPAU, the LGU Colombia Consortium, the Colombian Ministry of Education, COLCIENCIAS, and universities in North and South America. Ann’s NAFSA service includes Chair of the TLS Knowledge Community and Chair of the Latin American Forum. Ann holds a Ph.D. in political science from Yale University. She currently divides her time between Colombia and the U.S.
